Susan and Frank Oddo will open Birdsong, their beautiful Elfin Forest garden, to their fellow SDHS members on May 19, 2019.
At Birdsong, located near Escondido, the Oddo’s have created an artistically designed environment using a plant palette of shade trees, shrubs, succulents, cactus, palms, yuccas, cycads, Mediterranean plants, winter and spring bulbs, roses, and fruit trees. In the many outdoor rooms, you will find tranquil seating areas and a variety of whimsical works of art. Set on three fully landscaped acres, the garden also includes a large koi pond, vegetable garden and the roadster from the SDHS exhibit at the 2011 County Fair. Over 80 species of birds have been found on the property since the Oddo’s began development in 1980. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the wide variety of settings and the views. Drinks and sweets will be provided. This event is free but prior registration is required.
