The January monthly meet was well-attended despite the cold and rainy weather. Our speaker, Jeff Chemnick, was very informative and entertaining.

The Spring Garden tour, Magical La Mesa, is coming along nicely. The garden sites in La Mesa have been selected and tickets sales will begin soon.

Greg Rubin, 2018 recipient of the SDHS award for Horticulturalist of the Year, has agreed to design and oversee the installation of our garden exhibit at the San Diego Fair. With a nod to the Wizard of Oz, this year’s Fair theme is “Oz-some,” and with Greg’s leadership our exhibit will be “oz-some” as well. The Fair will run from May 31 through July 4.

We look forward to seeing you on February 11 at our monthly meeting, where our featured speaker, Brie Arthur, will be sharing her expertise on "Foodscaping."
