Thanks to all the members and guests who attended our September monthly meeting and made it such a big success! We look forward to seeing you and many other new faces at the October meeting with our featured speaker, Debra Lee Baldwin.

Our October meeting is going to be a special event, with Debra signing and selling copies of her new book, “Designing With Succulents,” a Succulent Plant and Pottery Faire (thanks to our special event coordinators Sam and Terri Seat), extra raffle prizes, and surprise goodies for everyone to enjoy in the outdoor courtyard.

We have a new SDHS Board Member! Karen Krugman is our new Volunteer Coordinator, taking over duties from Patty Berg. (Thank you for all of your dedication and service, Patty!) Be sure to look for Karen and give her a big, warm welcome to the Society.

Our program chair, Jason Chen, reported at the September 18th bimonthly Board of Directors meeting at the San Diego Botanic Garden that we have confirmed the speaker's list for meetings through September of 2018.

Last, but not least, the date for our annual Spring Garden Tour has been set for Saturday, April 7, 2018. According to board member and Garden Tour Coordinator, John Beaudry, we will be featuring private gardens in Encinitas. More details of the tour are to follow in the future, but be sure to mark your calendars now!
